With less than a second left on the clock, Michigan State's Korie Lucious shot a buzzer beater to help the Spartans beat out the Twerps and send them to Saint Louis to compete in the Sweet 16.

With Kalin Lucas leaving the court after a leg injury in the second half, the Spartans eventually ended up losing a 15-point lead to Greivis Vasquez and the Twerps. With six second left, Maryland held a 83-82 lead before Lucious shot a three-pointer that sent Maryland packing home.

The Spartans will now play No. 9 seed Northern Iowa, fresh off a win against No. 1 overall ranked Kansas, in the Midwest Regional Semifinals.  Michigan State lost last year to the North Carolina Tar Heels in the championship game.
