UPDATE...Georgetown went down, Washington beat Marquette...what a day. You never know when a group of kids will get their act together on the court. Is 11 the magic number...11 seeds are rocking!
Who can name where Murray State is located? Okay - pick upsets but Old Dominion over Notre Dame and Murray State over Vanderbilt? Granted I am having my worst NCAA first day ever but even watching Nova almost get creamed, wow! The thing today drives home is that these are kids and you never know what you get with kids.
Now I am awaiting the next set of games but need a break - maybe watch The Office or something. Too much chili, too many hotdogs and a few too many near Beers having me stressing over my first few picks (my brackets going into the Sweet 16 so far are in tact) and burping. Not attractive for an "old" lady.
Every year we all wait for March Madness and we pour our hearts and souls into this. We take off from work the first two days (in my case paying my part timer so I could watch on the 102 in screen and ignore the business upstairs). Tomorrow I will be stuck watching while working (it is a sports café) because I just cannot afford this - while my husband and our other friends go to a bar for the afternoon and evening. Why?
I am in 4 pools, one for charity and 3 for cash prizes. I play one Home Run Derby, one Fantasy Football, one pick 'em Football , one suicide Football and I cannot get into enough March Madness Pools - including making picks for friends who want to win but not make picks. Why do we go Pool crazy every March? Madness it is and I am Mad crazy and going crazier. Everyone in the house is in pools and we are competing with each other.
Can someone out there explain why we do this. My family is tired, stressed, anxious, looking for bragging right and all burping chili dogs. If you have the answer please post it...I am too tired and the games are about to begin again!
