Crawford Gets The Nod

After losing the backup spot to Antti Niemi in training camp, Corey Crawford will get a chance to start tonight against the Anaheim Ducks who may be without two of their top scorers in Ryan Getzlaf, and Teemu Selanne.
Crawford was called up yesterday to replace Cristobal Huet who is sick with the flu.
This will mark Corey's 8th game in the NHL and first regular season start with the Hawks since the 07-08 campaign.
The Hawks need a win tonight after giving up a 2-1 lead to Philadelphia late in the 3rd on Saturday, and blowing a 3-0 3rd period lead to the Ovechkinless Capitals on Sunday.
Without Campbell and Johnsson playing, Nick Boynton should make his first appearance of the season with the Hawks after being acquired near the trade deadline.
An interesting choice by Quenneville to start Crawford with a struggling team that is missing 2 of its top 6 defensemen.
Crawford's AHL Stats:
20-14-2-1
2.80 GAA
.905 SV%
