Why Not Augusta? Why Not Now?

Well, there you have it. 144 days and now only about three weeks left until the PGA Tour returns to normal and Tiger Woods returns to dominate the sport he loves. I was thinking yesterday that this was not a good thing that maybe just maybe a warm up or two would have been better but, I think he knows a little more about the state of his game than I do.

The control factor of the Tournament Committee had to have a lot to do with this one because they will protect one of their own and as a past champion that is exactly what he is. The media here are respectful not the morons from your everyday tabloid. It is the safest thing for him to do and actually after thinking about it the most sound.

After all, this tournament is held at the same venue every year so he knows the lay out as good as anyone including Bobby Jones and he built the place. I imagine somewhere he, Clifford Roberts, Alister McKenzie, Earl Woods, and the other influential people in golf who have gone on before us there are a lot of smiles.

Mine came in the form of a text to my Blackberry from one of Jack's biggest fans which makes this one even better to write because as of now the quest for the Holly Grail and 18 Majors is back on as of April 8, 2010. Thanks Robert this helped bring me out of the Tar Heel funk but the NIT game tonight will probably bring that back this evening. If everything goes to plan all the names mentioned above and myself will be smiling at around 7 o'clock on Sunday August 12.

Smiling because the game we love has returned to normal and Tiger has just left Butler Cabin with his 5th Green Jacket. If that happens there are only three to tie and one to pass with Pebble Beach and St. Andrews on the horizon.

How magical could this year and return be. Stay tuned because the indefinite break from the game he loves is now officially over, time to get to work Hank and Stevie.
