Where's JaMarcus Russell? Oakland Has No Idea. Teamates Could Care Less

Where is JaMarcus Russell?

Off season workout programs started recently but Russell is a no show. Does this surprise anybody? Last year he showed up a week late. Last year he ditched a team meeting to go to Vegas.

Does he even want the job? Doubtful. At this point, he just wants to get his money and do what he can to get his money. It's time to get rid of him.

I feel bad sometimes for Russell. He came into an organization that wasn't very organized to begin with. They gave him the torch to do something with and ended up spitting on the torch and probably fumbled it at one point or another.

Bruce Gradkowski showed up. Charlie Frye showed up. JaMarcus Russell did not show up. This is volunteer work gentlemen and you are NOT required to show up. However, if you want to have some respect from your teammates, you show up. ESPECIALLY if you are in the position of quarterback. I don't care if there is "nothing" to do for the first week. I don't care if you have to sit in the stands and watch your teammates do drills.

I suggest you run some laps or throw some throws. I'm sure Gradkowski and Frye were doing that. Do something. Do something productive.

The sad part is that the Raiders spent so much money on Russell that they are going to give him every chance possible to do something. Anything! He lost our season last year. I'm sure he'd do it again if given the chance.

Had we started with Gradkowski, the Raiders WOULD have won more games. Granted, our offensive line isn't that hot, and our receivers need some work (DHB), and our running game isn't that hot, but if there was no Russell, I bet we could have won at least 8 games.

But this is about Russell, who shows no signs of waking up from last year. This year, we have open quarterback tryouts and if Russell wins, we know there is some finagling going on upstairs regarding who should start.

A starting teammate recently stated "Thats a horror show" and another stated "don't hold your breath" regarding Russell showing up any time soon. Good luck with Russell gaining any respect with his team. It's done.

Russell last year went out a loser and Gradkowski came in and won, and won. What else do you want Raider Nation?
