Blackhawks' defensemen, Brian Campbell, could miss the rest of the season because of the check he received from Captials' forward, Alexander Ovechkin, according to league sources.

Campbell has a broken clavicle and  ribs after being checked into the boards on Sunday's game. Campbell remained on the ice for several minutes as trainers attended him.

Said Hawks captain Jonathan Toews: "We're hoping for the best with Brian. There's so much of that stuff [head injuries] going on now, it's pretty frustrating the players don't take a stand against something like that and say, 'You know what, we have to respect ourselves a little bit more,' and know it's not all about the flashy hit. You have to know when there's a dangerous situation and you can really hurt somebody and be smarter about it."

Losing Campbell for the season would be a devastating blow to the Hawks as Campbell is having a tremendous year. He has accumulated 39 points and has a +/- of +18.
