UFC's Houston Alexander: A Father and a Fighter
Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) is time-consuming and demanding. In order to stay on top of your game, you've got to train. You've also got to juggle that training with work, school, and maybe even a family.
Just ask Houston Alexander.
The single father—with a remarkable six children between the ages of five and 16—has been able to knock down the competition in both of his UFC appearances.
Now he's on his way to a title shot as a top contender.
"My pressure comes from wanting to do the right thing for my kids," Alexander told yahoo.com. "I want them to have the best life possible. And there is so much work that has to be done. Fighting is just a job. Kids are work, believe me when I tell you that. You want pressure, that's pressure."
On November 17th, Houston Alexander faces Thiago Silva. If he wins his fight will be the "Cinderella Story" of the century.
