The second week of free agency in the NFL is under way. Since writing my first article about free agent signings, there has been some more major signings and developments.
Here is a look around the league and my thoughts on the latest signings and trades:
The Cardinals replaced departed S Antrel Rolle by trading for New York Jets S Kerry Rhodes. The trade cost the Cardinals a fourth round pick in the 2010 draft and a seventh round pick in the 2011 draft. I believe the move is a downgrade from Rolle. Rolle went to the Pro Bowl in 2009 and Rhodes struggles in coverage and is not as good of a tackler as Rolle. Still, the price was cheap and the Cardinals get a talented veteran player that was in need of a fresh start. A change of scenery could be just what Rhodes needs.
The Browns added former Seattle Seahawk QB Seneca Wallace by trading what has been reported as a late round pick. That allowed them to release QB Derek Anderson. That has started speculation as to where Anderson will end up, Arizona being one of the early speculated landing spots.
