Longtime Feeding Hills, Massachusetts resident and now a college student for the Disney College Program for Fall 2008 puts his name in for Red Sox Nation Governor of Florida.

Mike DiMauro, the president of the Beat Mike Network, has put his name in the hat for race of Red Sox Nation Governor for the state of Florida.

DiMauro, 24, is making his move to the Sunshine State next month, originally put his name in to be the Governor of Red Sox Nation in Massachusetts. He lost to Saugus resident Jared Carrabis, who was second runner-up in the race for Red Sox Nation President last year. DiMauro also ran for the Presidency, but did not make the cut of the 25 finalists.

DiMauro said that if he becomes governor of the state of Florida, he would try to get some new fans across the state and he would try to encourage fans to come to the Red Sox games in Fort Myers (spring training), Tampa (vs. Rays) and Miami (vs. Marlins). DiMauro has been a longtime New England sports fan and knows his Patriots and Red Sox.
