Mardy Fish of the USA enjoyed one of the best weeks of his career at the Indian Wells Masters 1000 event in 2008. The American edged past Lleyton Hewitt and David Nalbandian and he went on to thrash the World Number 1 Roger Federer 6-3 6-2 in the Semi Finals. Mardy Fish gave a good account of himself in the final but ultimately fell short against the recently crowned Australian Open Champion Novak Djokovic in 3 sets. With the tournament in Indian Wells starting this week, Fish would love to be able to repeat his form of 2008 this time around. Mardy Fish also reached the final of the Masters 1000 event in Cincinnati back in 2003 but he lost in a final set tiebreaker to compatriot and good friend Andy Roddick. Roddick went on to win the US Open which to date remains his lone Grand Slam triumph, Roddick and Fish won the doubles title in Indian Wells last year.
