The Cubs have acquired pitchers Rich Harden and Chad Gaudin for P Sean Gallagher, INF Eric Patterson, OF Matt Murton, and C Josh Donaldson.
With this move the Cubs have solidified their rotation—Harden can come in and be put at the front end of the rotation in between Ryan Dempster and Carlos Zambrano.
Harden is 5-1 with a 2.43 ERA this season, and has torn up the national league in interleague play with is minuscule 0.68 ERA versus the senior circuit.
The piece of this deal that I really love is the them also picking up Chad Gaudin, who is 5-3 with a 3.59 ERA. Gaudin can spot starter for the Cubs as well as be put into the bullpen for middle relief, which the Cubbies really needed.
Although the Cubs did give up a lot in this deal for Harden and Gaudin, this makes them a better team imediately.

Michael, I agree completely on Chad Gaudin. He is a great arm to have in the bullpen and can help in the rotation if needed. None of the prospects we traded were going to really help this team this season, unlike Harden and Gaudin can. Nice article and keep up the good work!
