The Philadelphia Eagles are reportedlyto FINALLY have a visit coming up this Tuesday with Indianapolis Colts Safety Marlin Jackson. Jackson would've been a restricted free agent this season but the Colts have decided to not place any kind of tender on him so he's available to interview with any of 31 other teams in the league.

Jackson is your typical low cost/high reward type of player. He's got some size at 6'0 196 pounds and also has some experience at various positions in a secondary. He can play Safety or Cornerback but theres skeptics out there saying he isn't the fastest guy on the field...neither is Sheldon but he's still a playmaker right?

In 2005 the Colts felt he was physical enough to be their 1st round draft pick which was the 29th pick in that draft. Jackson doesn't come without some concerns however. In his four years as an NFL player he has been out two of them because of some serious knee injuries, two torn anterior cruciate ligaments to be precise. That definitely sends up all kinds of red flags. Are the Eagles gonna sign this guy only to have him out again for a third season because of his kneeS. I emphasize the "s" because its not only one of his knees...its both!

Even though Jackson has been out the 2 of his 4 seasons he was still given the honor of being the Colts "Ed Block Courage Award" recipient last season. He has 4 interceptions, 2 forced fumbles and 13 defended passes. On those 4 interceptions he has a total of 43 return yards. With a total of 221 tackles in his four years he definitely knows how to be around the ball. Jackson is known to be a physical player but with those bad knees a grand slam physical is going to be needed on his part. Keep in tune Philly fans, Jackson may not be a big name but at least its A name at a position of need. Keep the faith!
