My first order of busines today (3/7/2010) was to see if any word has come out on where DE Aaron Kampman man land and on this Sunday there are speculations that he and the Jacksonville Jaguars have agreed to terms...but I can't find anywhere what the contract he signed is for.

So the Eagles sleep on the two best available defensive ends in this Free Agency. What does this mean for the Eagles you ask? Well in means a couple of things. First, it seems the Eagles either think they are ok at defensive end which is hard to imagine or they felt the asking prices of these individuals where to steep. We could argue that the Eagles front office doesn't open their wallets to talented players but we all know thats not true at all. In recent years they have brought in some big names in John Runyan, Jevon Kearse and Asante Samuel just to name a few but with such a glaring need for a Defensive End why not dig a little deeper. Ah, the answer could be in Jevon Kearse. Is all to hard to imagine that the Eagles are scared out of the wits to spend big bucks on a defensive end due to what happened with the Kearse deal...which I will now call the "curse deal".

Another thing it could mean, and this COULD be a plus for the Eagles is maybe now some of these really good rookie ends could still be available in the draft. Question is will the Eagles take one in the 1st or 2nd or will the Eagles even keep their 1st round pick as I've seen some articles saying that the Eagles may try to trade out of the 1st for some extra early round picks. All possiblilities!

The Jaguars also tried to negotiate a deal with one of their own ends Reggie Hayward who is also coming off an injury this past season to a deal just above the veteran minimum of $755,000 but Hayward has decided to "sniff around". Would the Eagles/should the Eagles look at Hayward, no...end of story. Hayward in my opinion is no better than Jaqua Parker. Lets also not forget about Victor Abiamiri who was a 2nd rd pick from Notre Dame for the Eagles in 2007. If Abiamiri can juust stay healthy he could be a tremendous force and athlete on the field. We've seen glimpses of him when he is healthy and the guy is an animal but he just can't stay healthy.

There are still some guys out there yet. Osi Umenyiora of the NY Giants has openly talked about his displeasure in New York and we all know what Osi is capable of so no need to get into all that. He is two years removed from his torn lateral meniscus cartilage in his left knee but he is a Right End. Would he be willing to play Left End or should this even be a discussion...I think it should since we have a need, explore all avenues at this point right?

Its Sunday folks, not alot out there in regards to football talk so this is just a "filler" for all us Eagle fans! I'm going out to enjoy the 50+ degree weather & get rid of this cabin fever! Keep the faith Philly fans!
