Olympic Bump? How About The Olympic Lull?

Many people talk about the bump of a two week Olympic break. If players playing for their country preform well, they are likely to continue with their club teams. Also, there is the idea of rest, a two week break can really give some players a much needed break. Thirdly, injuries now have time to heal. So the Olympic break is all good right? Wrong.
Some teams have lost all momentum since the NHL schedule has re-started. Take, the Ottawa Senators for example. They had won 14 out 16 games going into the break. They were on cloud nine, but the break took away all that momentum.
The Senators have lost back-to-back games, both at a 4-1 score, since the schedule has resumed. They are playing very uninspired hockey and the Olympic break is surely to blame.
The rust has been a significant factor in both of their games. It has been obvious that a two week break from game play was not a good thing for the Ottawa Senators.
By all means, the Olympic break was a good thing, I am no advocate of taking NHL players out of the Olympics. Some of the best hockey ever seen was played during those two weeks.
