What is going on with Roger Federer? Isn’t he supposed to be winning everything? Well, that is what people expect.
He's just proven he is human. His loss to Rafael Nadal at Wimbledon over the weekend still featured an epic performance by nearly coming back in a 6-4, 6-4, 6-7 (5), 6-7 (8), 9-7 loss, but it remains proof of that.
People must realize that he has been around in tennis for a long time, and he is bound to have ups and downs in his career. Since we are only used to seeing him win, it is difficult to digest when he starts losing.
Roger is a great champion as well as a wonderful ambassador for the sport. He plays with finesse and a silken touch, making him by far the most graceful player the sport has ever seen. Nothing has changed in him, just that he has started losing more games now, and is getting more beatable.
But that is normal. It does happen to every individual and even whole sporting teams for that matter. Isn’t Australia more beatable in cricket now?
It is just another phase in his career, and, knowing the kind of champion Roger is, he is sure to come back stronger and better in future Grand Slam tournaments. He's bound to win plenty more, maybe even the French Open next year.
Well, it wont be easy, but it certainly won't be impossible, either, for the great champion.
