Detroit is off to a good start in the free agent market.

The Lions signed veteran wide receiver Nate Burleson to a five year, $25 million dollar contract with $11 million guaranteed.

Burelson will be a nice addtion to a Lions receiving staff that needs more experience and somebody to compliment Calvin "Megatron" Johnson.

Lions coaching staff is looking forward to the energence of Matt Stafford.  With a year of experience under his belt and the addition of Burleson, Stafford should have a much more productive year than 2009.

Lions fans are typically used to drafting wide receivers, so locking up Burelson for five years could be sign that Detroit will focus more on the defensive side of the ball this year.

Hopefully this is the first of many nice additions to the Lions roster...rumor has it that head coach Jim Schwartz visted thehome of free agent defensive end Kyle Vanden Bosh in Nashville.
