Tomorrow the Yankees will take the field for their first spring training game of the year.

Today, however, they begin playing some games.

It has become a tradition for the Yankees under manager Joe Girardi.

Last season during spring training, Girardi gathered his team together at a local pool hall for a friendly tournament. Turns out the outing became a great bonding experience for the team and set the tone for the season that eventually ended with the team being crowned World Champions.

"I just saw the value in getting them together off the field the more I thought about it," said Girardi.
