Mariano Rivera threw his first bullpen session today. It was a 21 pitch session, and the 40 year old closer felt good about it. He had no problems: no injuries, no control problems: seems to be good sign. As the Yankees head into the 2010 season, things seem awfully good. Who knows: maybe he'll have the best season of his career.

Mo knows what he needs to do and will do. He quoted, "I think at this age, I definitely have an idea of what I have to do and what I need. It's Spring Training. Come and get ready. I don't think that, in my case, I have to come in and impress anybody. I just have to make sure that I'm ready for the season, and that's what I try to do."

He's right. It's just Spring Training. No need to worry if he has a bad spring. Yankees fans: look forward to his season as a 40 year old veteran.
