The BBC web site  reported tonight that Chelsea have made a massive offer for Brazilian star Kaka. While the number was not disclosed, I would assume it was a record bid, which would mean more than 50 million pounds.

Chelsea have long been linked with a move for the 26-year-old World Player of the Year and their boss is now ex-Brazil coach Luiz Felipe Scolari. Galliani told Italian newspaper La Stampa: “We received an astronomical offer from Chelsea for Kaka.”

Galliani says selling Kaka and Italian midfielder Andrea Pirlo (who Chelsea also like) would immediately stabilize Milan’s finances, with the club having missed out on a place in next season’s Champions League.  “All we would need to do in order to wipe out our debts is sell Kaka and Pirlo,” he said.

I was wondering where Chelsea where going with their summer purchases.

Adding Deco and potentially Eto'o to the squad is good, but if they were to lose Lampard and Drogba then I think the squad is weaker than last year. Even with Kaka, Chelsea need two new forwards to replace Anelka and Drogba.

So while adding Kaka would be a great move for Chelsea and the Premier League I want to see who Chelsea bring in to score goals before I anoint them rulers of England and Europe.

  1. They're going to try Shevchenko again. But yes if Lampard was gone their solidifying presence in midfield would be slightly less. Then again, they might get Pirlo as well.
    Nice article.

  2. chelsea are pritty rich team and bringing kaka in would probley still be a hard feet. However frank lampard may be leaving to inter so you need to replace him. Ok so you bought deco but i dont think he will be able to cover frank lampards position dispite being a good footballer him self. In my opinion you need to go for kaka and bring another great talent to the club and the premurship. Hay im an arsenal fan so maybe we will get arshavin. It looks like the next season will have a hole new face and will include even more of the worlds top footballers.

  3. if these transfers happen there will be some nice football matches being played in england this season. everyone will have to raise their game again. they say big money ruins football but in situations like this it seems it improves the standard in many different ways. chelsea with a new coach new quality players will be aiming for no less than what united got last season.
i dont think they will be too worried about spending more money on one more striker.
    come on Stoke city.

    1. There certainly will...I`ll be tuning in for sure.

If previous articles are true and Big Phil wants Kaka, Ronaldinho, Deco and Eto`o ...I think Chelsea is out to win every title up for grabs.

What you have there is a Brazilian world cup winning combo plus Eto`o.

      Shouldn`t be allowed!!!

  4. Wow.....I am truly shocked that Chelsea are throwing money around trying to sign every good player out there.
Why doesn't Abramovich just sign the Utd team, then he can claim to be the champion of Europe!!

    1. With those guys he intends to sign ...United will be blazed next season.

    2. I highly doubt United will be "blazed" simply by getting an assortment of stars.
United as a collective unit has brilliant co ordination, and Ferguson amalgamates them, and thats what produces the football that u get to see from the Devils.
Chelsea, throwing around the money that they are, may well be the team to watch out for this season, but its still to be seen how the players, no matter how great individually, gel together in a side, and how quickly they adapt to the English game.
Not to mention getting Kaka and Pirlo will be one helluva challenge, especially given the fact that Kaka recently stated that he is going to retire at AC!

    3. Yeah ...let`s wait and see.

I personally don`t believe in all those signings.

I`d like to wait till the dust clears some more.

    4. united this untied that, im sick of united there i said it. a boyhood fan who made a pilgrimage from new zealand to old trafford. i don't like united fans. im sick of them. as i said earlier go stoke city. blah blah blah ferguson this ferguson that. blah blah blah. i say all united will win this season is one of the english cups and nothing else.

  5. Rumor on Sky Sports has it that Chelsea never placed a bid

    1. I saw that Daniel. But then Chelsea say they have not received an offer for Lampard even though Milan said they faxed it yesterday.
