After much speculation, it was announced today, in the All-Star selection show for the 2008 MLB All Star Game, that Tim Lincecum and Brian Wilson will be the only two Giants headed to Yankee Stadium.
The two selected are easily the most deserving as Lincecum has been one of the best starting pitchers in the National League, and Brian Wilson is the saves leader in the NL.
Lincecum is 10-1 on the season, with 122 strikeouts in 115.2 innings pitched. His ERA is also a meager 2.49.
Wilson leads the National League in saves with 24 (out of 26 chances) and has saved 15 in a row. He also has 39 K's in 35 innings pitched.
Now the question is, will Lincecum start the all-star game for the N.L team? It will either be him or Edinson Volquez, but I'm going to say that Tim will get the start.
10-1 is an amazing record, but it's even more amazing when the offense in front of him has been horrendous. Volquez gets a decent and steady run support in Cincinnati.
Note: The MLB also released a list of five players who can still make the ASG. Giants' centerfielder Aaron Rowand is among them and with your help, could land a third Giant on the National League All-Star team.

Best closer for the Giants since Robb Nen and to have that many saves on this team, he deserves it.
