Coming to Terms With Your Release: Shock WWE Firings This Afternoon

In what can only be described as a shocking turn of events, well, apart from one of these, WWE Superstars Shane "The Hurricane" Helms, Paul Burchill and WWE Diva Maria Kanellis have been released by the company in their "spring cleaning" stage. While the release of "The Hurricane" may not be a surprise to many considering his arrest, the release of Burchill and Maria certainly are. With the arrivals of Jeff Hardy and Shannon Moore in TNA, it would not be a surprise to see their friend wind up there after his "90 day no compete clause" expires. Burchill came as quite a shock, as I was expecting him to wind up on Raw so he could continue to be paired with his kayfabe sister. As for Maria, this is clearly the biggest shock. The ever popular "Diva of the Year 2009" was embroiled in a feud along with Matt Hardy and Khali against The Hart Dynasty. There was also hints of an on-screen romance between Maria and Hardy which could have lead to a heel turn for Maria, but I am not sure. But, as the notices say:

"Shane Helms, Paul Burchill and Maria Kanellis, we wish you well in your future endeavors".

NB: There is a high chance of more releases to come. If I can, I will try to be the first to report.
