Hello Nation!
I spent the last few days researching the following article. I know that at this point in the season it is nothing but prediction and reading everyone's guestimates as to what needs to be done. That can be tiring. I tried to be realistic here.
I do understand that if what I'm outlining is done, we still won't have the perfect team. What we will have is a really great collection of athletes & football players that (with the right coaching and play calling) can make a run at a winning season.
Take a look, do your reseach, and let me know what you think. I appreciate your feedback.

Free Agent Aquisition - WR
We need to bring in a true #1 to take some of the pressure off our young recievers.
- Owens keeps himself in great shape, is a big time threat, has the experience to mentor, and has shown maturity recently that his issues are put aside (something Davis loves).
- Derrick Mason could be a great fit to help our new offensive coordinator bring the quarterback(s) up to where they need to be.
- Braylon Edwards could be part of a trade with the Jets.
Draft Rd #1 - OT
This could be many different guys. Measurables point to Bryan Bulaga or Bruce Campbell.
This will help both in the pass protection and run game, boosting production from QB's, RB"s & WR's.
Draft Rd #2 - DT
Again, measurables point to either Dan Williams or Jared Odrick.
This should really help our cornerbacks with a pass rush.
In addition, with the later draft of an additional linebacker our run stopping ability should be better.
Draft Rd #3(1st) - ILB
ILB is what we need. High 3rd rounder should do it.
I suspect either Daryl Washington or Sean Lee will be available here.
Draft Rd #3(2nd) - CB
Davis is going to have to have his hand slapped a couple of times to get this far into the draft without going for a CB.
At that point measurables will too much for him to overlook and he'll go for either Chris Cook or Jerome Murphy.
Draft Rd #4 - OG
Carlisle is getting old. He may be able to provide a good veterans perspective and depth, but we've got to upgrade.
Mitch Petrus or Marshall Newsome at this pick would be a great addition to the O-line.
Draft Rd #5 - OT
At this stage it may be the best thing to do to take the highest talent still on the board.
My senses tell me we should take another OT.
Looks like either Ed Wang or Zipp Duncan would fit here.
Draft Rd #7 - FB
We need a fullback and will have quality options in the 7th round.
