After an intense women's figure skating competition in Vancouver, Kim Yu-Na from Korea has managed to win the gold after two outstanding performances. Japan's Mao Asada came in second, followed by Canada's Joannie Rochette in third.
Each of these women had pretty outfits, some more beautiful than others, and if the competition were based on outfits, the medal order would be different...
Kim Yu-Na, the reigning World Champion from Korea, has won the gold medal in Vancouver with a total score and personal best of 228.56. She had so much pressure on her, and her people had such high expectations of her, but even with all this pressure she was able to skate an amazing routine that led to her country’s first ever figure skating medal.
She looked beautiful wearing a blue outfit with sparkles down her back, which was one of my favorite outfits of the competition. This outfit would win the Silver.
Mao Asada has come away with the silver medal with a total score of 205.5. Asada is the first woman to attempt and to land two triple axles in a competition, and she looked stunning doing them. She made two errors which were costly to her performance, but she was still able to skate a wonderful routine make her country Japan proud.
She wore a red and black outfit which was pretty but was my least favorite out of the three medal winners. This outfit would win the bronze.
Joannie Rochette from Canada has taken the bronze with a total score of 202.64. This was an amazing accomplishment because her mother Therese passed away on Sunday, a mere four days ago. It took an enormous amount of courage and determination to perform after losing someone so dear to her, and I commend her for her incredible efforts.
Rochette wore a light blue outfit that made her look absolutely gorgeous, and she truly deserves to be on the podium after her performances in Vancouver. Her outfit would win the Gold.
