Many have tried, all have failed. From HBK to Ric Flair to HHH to Takers brother Kane (twice), they have all put forth the challenge but all have came up short.

Taker is undefeated at Mania, which is like winning at Daytona every year, winning the Masters every year, or even the French Open for you tennis fans (Im not one of them).

Fans wonder if the streak will ever end, can anyone defeat the Phenom on the grandest stage of them all? It would certainly be the highlight of that superstar's tenure in the WWE.

But who deserves a chance? Who would give Taker a run for his money like The Heart Break Kid did last year? Better yet, who would be worthy enough to be known as the man to end "The Streak"?.

I have listed 10 superstars that I think would be worthy of doing so, and why they are worthy of making history.

10. The Miz

People hate him, hes one of the best heels in WWE, and i don't see him turning face anytime soon. The Miz as a face would not work out well.

But The Miz would be a great opponent for Taker at Mania, Takers one of the best faces in WWE and the fans would love to see Taker put Miz in his place.

A win by The Miz would make his career, it would skyrocket him into the high ranks of WWE, but its not likely; that's why he's 10th on the list.

9. Ted DiBiase Jr.

He's the son of the Million Dollar Man, and is much better than his tag partner Cody Rhodes. Much more potential, much better mic skills, and is a good in-ring performer.

He has not accomplished much in his short career, but a win over The Undertaker would be a way to show hes not only as good as daddy was, but better.

DiBiase is a possibility to at least face Taker, but he's No. 9 because even if he gets his chance, he's not likely to be "the one."

8. Vincent Kennedy McMahon

Why not? Hes faced "The Donald", he's very possibly facing Bret Hart, he's faced HBK, and hes got a long history with Taker that involves Vince burying him alive at Survivor Series in 2003.

Of course Vince couldn't keep up with him in the ring, but maybe with someone in his corner or some outside interference he could end the streak. This seems the most unlikely but it would be a intriguing match.

7. Christian

Captain Charisma! Hes maybe the most underrated superstar in the WWE. And now since hes on Raw hes probably going to be put right back in main event status.

I love this guy, great in ring performer and as good a mic worker. If he got a chance at breaking Taker's streak he would be the perfect guy to break the streak.

He's been world champ once, and that was as ECW champion. A win against the Undertaker at Mania would elevate him to hall of fame status.

I'd love to see it, but we probably never will.

6. Sheamus

Sheamus has burst onto the scene since arriving on Raw, he defeated John Cena at TLC for the WWE Title after a stint on ECW where he made his name somewhat known.

I think Sheamus would be perfect to end the streak of the Undertaker. Why not? Hes got a whole career ahead of him and this could make him a respected man in WWE.

I think this is very likely especially if Sheamus keeps rising to the top of WWE.

5. Chris Jericho

Hes getting up there in age but Y2J is maybe the best asset to WWE. Hes at least in the top 5.

I'd love to see Jericho end the streak, hes already done everything. World Champ, Tag Champ, IC Champ, and hes already a first-ballot hall of famer.

So Jericho has nothing to gain from this, but don't be surprised if Y2J gets his chance.

4. EDGE

81578023

Hes the best in the biz, say what you want after winning the Rumble this guy has done EVERYTHING! Hes the best heel in WWE history.

Edge had his chance to beat Taker at Mania but couldn't get it done. But for some reason I don't think that was his only chance.

If the Rated R Superstar was to end Taker's streak he would make himself known as the best there ever was.

3.HBK

Oh last year was great. Ive been a religious follower of WWE since 2004 and last years Taker/Hbk match was the best ive seen by far.

Michaels deserves to beat him, i mean WWE hasnt given him a world title in forever. And why not? Hes the best all around performer at this point.

I hope HBK ends the streak this year, but I don't see it. Im a huge HBK fan, he ended Ric Flair's career at Mania and it would be the best end to a great career for him to end Taker's streak. I mean he is the Heart Break Kid!

2. Randy Orton

89996868

He came as close as anyone to end Takers streak. Orton had Taker setup for his own finisher( tombstone pile driver) but it was countered and Taker hit the Tombstone himself.

Orton's still young and has many years left in him, and he is the legend killer. Orton deserves another shot, i don't think he gets another chance but if it does happen, Orton would be perfect to beat him. I'm an Orton fan, so of course, I'd love it.

1, CM Punk

81577602

Cm Punk is a AWESOME in-ring performer. I love this guy. Hes a better heel than a face. He had a great rivalry with Taker that involved him making Taker "tap-out."

Punk is great in all aspects, and he would be the best man on the current roster to end Taker's streak. It would add to an already impressive resume. Punk could likely get another shot, whether its as a heel or face is unknown.

But Punk in my mind deserves to be the man to be known as "The one who ended the streak."
