At a night where it turned out that leg kicks would reign supreme, a new champion was crowned.

However, while the parties start in Vegas with celebration and consolation in mind, it is important to stay focused on the fight. Each fight showed that there is always room for improvement.

And as such, each fight result (from the main card) will be followed by a little advice that might make a big difference down the road.

First, the always under-appreciated under cards:

Justin Buchholz (8-2) defeated Corey Hill (2-0) via submission due to rear naked choke at 3:57 in the 2nd round.

Melvin Guillard (39-8-3) defeated Dennis Silver (11-5) via KO at 0:36 in the 1st round.

Cole Miller (13-3) defeated Jorge Gurgel (16-3) via submission due to triangle choke at 4:48 in the 3rd round.

Gabriel Gonzaga (8-3) defeated Justin McCully (8-3-2) via submission due to shoulder lock at 1:57 in the 1st round.

And for the main card:

Tyson Griffin (11-1) defeated Marcus Aurelio (14-5) via unanimous decision.

Tip for Marcus: Leg kicks- they hurt. There is a sport called muay thai that teaches a fighter to do something called "leg checks" which is essentially blocking the impact point of the kick. Check it out.

Josh Koscheck (13-2) defeated Chris Lytle (35-15-4) by unanimous decision.

Tip for Chris: Koscheck is an excellent wrestler... well, that isn't a tip as much as a hindsight warning to stay away from the cage wall (which prevents people from successfully sweeping and leaves them open for gashes to the head so bad it turns a blond afro orange).

Joe Stevenson (33-8) defeated Gleison Tibau (27-4) by submission due to guillotine choke at 2:57 in the 2nd round.

Tip for Gleison: Joe Stevenson is known for his guillotine chokes. After avoiding them twice, an attempt at a double leg take down isn't a great idea as much as it is an invitation.

Patrick Cote (13-4) defeated Ricardo Almeida (9-2) by split decision.

Tip for Ricardo: When fighting a boxer, work your kickboxing skills. Don't hope to submit him early, prepare to have to strike with him late.

And for the main event of the evening:

Forrest Griffin (15-4) defeated Quinton Jackson (27-6) by unanimous decision.

Tip for Quinton: Since Quinton is an excellent fighter with excellent trainers, I have nothing to provide in the way of fight tips, however, if you are going to fight someone, don't bet your purse that it won't go to a decision on national television. You might just end up in front of Judge Judy.
