Defeat was looking straight at the Yankees today. When Mike Lowell hit that RBI single off Mo, he was flirting with a blown save for the first time this season. The bases were loaded with nobody out shortly after Kevin Youkilis was hit by a pitch, but Mo quickly got out of a jam to win the game for the Yankees. First, Coco Crisp struck out swinging, then Jason Varitek popped out to first, and finally, Julio Lugo went down swinging. The Yankees win the game 2-1. Once again, the offense wasn't too spectacular, but Mike Mussina did not allow a run through 6 IP, and only gave up four hits. He hit Manny Ramirez, who has been a thorn on his side this season, twice.

Mike Mussina earned his 11th win of the season, Justin Masterson, who gave up 2 runs and 6 hits on 6 innings, got tagged with the L. Alex Rodriguez gets 2 stolen bases, Jacoby Ellsbury was caught stealing by Jose Molina.
