The 10 Sickest Trick Shot Videos On The Internet
Have you ever seen somebody make a shot that completely blew your mind? You may have thought the little trick shots you and your buddies were doing in fourth grade were great, but they weren't. The internet has proved that.
Now you can see guys make shots that are so off-the-wall nuts that you think it has to be fake. In fact, that's probably the highest compliment you can pay, that you don't actually believe it's possible.
So in honor of Vince Carter's "world record breaking" shot recently (it's in here), here are The 10 Sickest Trick Shot Videos On The Internet.
No. 10: The Lucky Trick Shot
This one would be higher if the guy actually meant to hit the shot that he hit. Going for the benign "from the porch" shot, the kid somehow hits the backboard on the way down, then the ball bounces up over the back and comes back through the hoop.
I also had to deduct points because everyone knows you're supposed to play it cool on these videos and his buddy started screaming like a little girl.
No. 9: Monta Ellis No-Look Over The Head
Monta Ellis kicks the professionals off here. Even though guys like Dwight Howard and LeBron James are the ones known for their trick shots before and after games, Monta hits one that is more impressive than all of theirs.
From the side (no chance of backboard help), turned around, over the head, nothing but net. I love that he seems pleased with himself afterward, but unlike the last video, he doesn't go too crazy, even though it's a sick shot and obviously one he didn't spend an hour trying to make.
No. 8: Dude Perfect - World's Longest Basketball Shot
Trust me, this will not be the only time you see Dude Perfect show up here. This shot may be the most famous and the one that got them on the most TV shows, but to me it's not their most entertaining.
What it is, however, is impressive as hell. This got people screaming "FAAAAKE," but to any real basketball fan, this was just the perfect shot by guys who have made their reputation making perfect shots.
No. 7: Nothing But Net?
If this was a trick shot that somebody could replicate, it might be No. 1, but it's just footage from a random basketball game.
So while it's not really a trick shot, per se, it definitely deserves to be on this list because I had to watch it about seven different times to try and decide if this was really possible.
No. 6: Vince Carter 86-Foot Shot Sitting Down
Another thorn in the side of Dwight Howard (other than being left off this list entirely, sorry Dwight) has to be his own teammate, Vince Carter, fooling around with him after practice and breaking his "world record" set just a week earlier.
I'm sure this will be broken some time by a kid who has got hours and hours to spare, but for somebody who probably had only been doing that about ten minutes tops, this is impressive as hell.
No. 5: Dude Perfect - Ranch Edition
This is the video that put Dude Perfect on the map for me. More than their ability to make shots, what impressed me was the creativity of their shots. Nobody even comes close.
Putting a hoop in the back of a truck then rifling the ball in as the basket is moving? Seriously? Wow.
What's ever better is that these guys just seem to be some good ol' boys having fun with their buddies. Even though some of these shots look impossible to you, it begs the question "would these guys really fake it?"
I don't think so.
No. 4: Skateboard Trick Shots
Set up to be some sort of DC Shoe commercial or viral video, I saw this a while ago and loved it. The ramps definitely give way to new and interesting shots and the finale of the guy skating up a halfpipe then draining the shot sold me.
At the very least, it does plenty of damage to the myth that skaters don't play other sports well.
No. 3: B. Manley Behind The Back
This guy has got one main move, but damn is it impressive. You know how hard it is to make a behind-the-back pass on target? Multiply that by a thousand and that's about how hard it is to make a behind-the-back basket.
However, B. Manley is the man when it comes to this. He makes some long range ones that seem to defy the laws of physics.
No. 2: Front Flip, Full Court Shot
I'll excuse the kid for breaking the "don't get overly excited" afterward because this is a once in a lifetime shot.
Soccer flip, full court, bucket. I've never seen anything like it and I don't imagine I ever will again.
No. 1: Dude Perfect: Summer Camp Edition
I gotta end this with Dude Perfect. To me, these guys have revolutionized the trick shot. And in my mind, their summer camp one is the most fun to watch.
What makes it even better is that these guys all seem like really great guys and have used their fame for something good. Check out DudePerfect.com to see. But first, enjoy these ridiculous shots.
Well done, fellas.
