New York Met Jose Reyes Confronts Keith Hernandez on 'Baby' Comment

Mets shortstop Jose Reyes Confronted broadcaster Keith Hernandez according to Adam Rubin of the Daily News.

Reyes was upset that Hernandez had called him a baby following a little league like tantrum on the field last week.

What Reyes really needs to do is put that pissed off energy to use on his teammates.  Particularly the anti-competitor Aaron Heilman, the useless Carlos Delgado and the over-compensated Carlos Beltran.  He might even ask uberpitcher Johan Santana to try throwing a shutout or not give up two runs to give up a seventh inning lead against Philadelphia.

Reyes has been one of the players who has actually shown life on the field since the firing of Willie Randolph.  The rest of the team has been going through the motions.  It's nice to see Reyes care about something again -- but his energy is misdirected.

Reyes drives the Mets.  Not David Wright, not Billy Wagner, not Willie and not Jerry Manuel.  Jose does.  Now is the time for him to get them going at his speed.
