NBA, Miami Heat, Michael Beasley, Breaking News, Injuries

As previously reported, the Heats No. 2 pick Michael Beasley suffered an elbow to the chest Wednesday. The Heat listed Beasley as day to day with a chest bruise. Miami has updated his injury from a "chest bruise" to a cracked sternum.

The former Kansas forward is still expected to make his highly anticipated debut in the summer league but must be given the "OK" by doctors before he can do so.

Heat guard Daequan Cook has also suffered an injury, a  separated shoulder in his non-shooting arm. The sophomore separated it during practice on Thursday night and is expected to miss as much as two to four weeks.

Not the start to the off-season that Heat fans would have expected. As I previously reported, how can Miami not feel a bit of angst after two injuries in the first three days of summer practice? Let's all cross our fingers and hope for the best as the Heat try to get the 2008-2009 season rolling.
