A NHL career spanning 18 seasons with three teams that produced 646 goals along with 953 assists, has come to an end today.

Jaromir Jagr, now the former captain of the Rangers, signed with Omsk, a Russian team today. The deal is reportedly for 2 seasons at $17.5 million per season. Jagr's deal comes just days after Malkin signed an extension with the Penguins.

Over the last 18 seasons, Jagr has been one of the NHL's most exciting players. Early in his career he was a complement to the Mario Lemieux with the Penguins, where he played from 1990-91 until 2000-01.

From 2001-02 until 2003-04 he played with the Caps and was their premier skating star.

He finished his career with the Rangers (as captain) from 2004-05 until 2007-08.

Jagr posted 100 point seasons five different times and had an additional five seasons with 90 plus points.

Jaromir is undoubtedly headed into the Hall of Fame. In my eyes, he can only go in as a  Pittsburgh Penguin, where he won't be remembered for being the greatest hockey player of all time.

He won two Cups (1990-91, 1991-92) with Pittsburgh and one MVP with the Caps.

Jagr surely is the greatest Czech player to date and deserves the accolades to come.
