Icon   From what we saw Monday night versus the Wild, the Edmonton Oilers are in for a tough night again tonight when they visit Ryan Smyth at his new home in Denver, Colorado. The Edmonton Oilers, who are currently sitting the basement of the North Western Division, are 2-6 versus their division rivalries and are looking to turn that around immediately. The Oilers were forced to pull Dwayne Roloson after surrendering 3 goals on 8 shots. Oilers back up goaltender Mathieu Garon came in to replace Roli, but didn't fare that much better allowing 2 more goals.

Edmonton Oilers Head Coach Craig MacTavish gave the players an ear full this morning during practice and even called out the powerplay, penalty killers and even got more personal calling out Jarret Stoll. Jarret Stoll has been critized as an underachiever this year, as he only has 1 marker on the year and isn't his usual self blocking pucks and playing that oilers hockey we are all use to seeing on both the powerplay and Penalty kill.

The Edmonton Oiler have something to look forward to; key off-season free agent acquisition Sheldon Souray began skating last week and should return to the line-up within 10 days which would add some much needed depth on that young blue line which includes Denis Grebeschov,Ladislav Smid a recent call up from the Springfield Falcons who lost his spot on the rost during preseason to Tom Gilbert, and a recent call up as well Bryan Young who is filing in for Mathieu Roy who left the game versus the Minnesota Wild. The Oilers are desperately looking to improve their record tonight vs Colorado and get that much needed win versus a team who is an impressive 7-1 home record on the season.
