NHL, Ottawa Senators, Tampa Bay Lightning, Los Angeles Kings, Rob Blake, Dan Boyle, Breaking News

(10:37am)

Last night I wrote an article on how it could be good or bad for the Lightning to trade Dany Boyle. Well just this morning I heard that the Lightning have given Boyle permission to speak with other team to express interest in going there. Among those teams were the Ottawa Senators and Philadelphia Flyers, and both teams said that they just don't have any room under their cap to pay his salary.

The Flyers were also one of three teams that the lightning were trying to get a deal done with that included Boyle. While the other two were San Jose, who just signed Rob Blake, and Vancouver. San Jose in my mind would be best for Boyle to go because of Rob Blake. If they put Blake with Boyle on the power play, just imagine how awesome it would be to be a San Jose Sharks fan.

As you may have read in one of my earlier articles, I think that the Lightning should trade Philip Kuba, who carrys almost the same salary, and would clear almost as much cap room.

     Bad move Tampa.
