When I was seven years old, I started gaining an interest in football. I had older brothers who would watch and talk about the NFL, and I wanted to be part of that - part of my older siblings' world. I hail from Rochester, NY and was disappointed to find that "we" didn't have a football team. The closest one was the team that most folks around there were fans of was the Buffalo Bills. Well, I wasn't from Buffalo and didn't want to root for them. So I asked my oldest brother if there were any "Lions," as they were my favorite animal (hey, I was seven!)
That is how I became a Detroit Lions fan.

A lot of teams you can really pinpoint \'what went wrong\' -- not so with the Lions. Theyre a combination of bad draft picks, disappointing coaching, underperforming stars, etc. etc. They haven\'t collapsed, they just never really built anything up.
