Arsenal are considering whether to accept Barcelona's improved £30 million bid for Emmanuel Adebayor.

Arsenal, who last week rejected a £24 million bid from the Spanish club, have conceded the Togolese striker can leave for the right price.

£30 million for Adebayor, are you kidding me?

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger will be disappointed to lose Adebayor, who scored 30 goals in all competitions last season.

But the blow will be softened by a substantial profit margin for a player who cost them £4.2 million when they bought him from Monaco,18 months ago.

Adebayor is unhappy with his salary of £35,000 week at the Emirates stadium and has been seeking a more lucrative contract.

Apparently Arsenal were prepared to improve Adebayor's deal before the relationship became fractious, with Adebayor doing much of his talking through the media.

AC Milan were the first club to pursue Adebayor, but the Italian giants eventually admitted they couldn't afford the 24-year-old forward.

Arsenal are said to be lining up Blackburn striker Roque Santa Cruz as a possible replacement should Adebayor leave.

  1. The end seems to be nearing for this story - if Arsenal accept a reported 30 mil. pound bid (which is 3 times his value IMO), then he'll leave, if not he stays because Barca have this political issue with the censures and all that on the 6th and all transfer activities could be stalled from the Nou Camp's end.. the situation around Hleb's gone all quiet.. wondering what's up with that!

  2. If you ask me Arsene should take the money and run before Barca changes their mind or rather comes to their senses. £30m for Adebayor WHAT!!! I mean he's good but not that good. I really think he will probably start deteriorating after two years tops and really is a bit of a trouble maker from history, with Togo and Monaco; I,ve been really surprised he hasn't brought any of that trouble Arsenal's way- until now.

Last I heard of Hleb he was saying how he never said he wanted to leave and how he loves arsenal and owes arsene so much. And any decision to leave would be dependent on Arsenal as he is on a 2 year contract. Funny how that statement was just shortly after Mourinho took over ranks from Mancini at Inter.

  3. U know what, it's best Ade leaves! If he wants to go so bad then we are not stopping you! We will get a lot of money for a player who had one good season and we'll just buy a couple of good players. Problem Solved!

Best of luck Ade hope you don't become another Shevchenko!
