Pierre Allen is poised to have a breakout year his senior season. When Barry Turner went down with injury Pierre's redshirt Sophomore year Husker fans thought the worst, but got the best. Pierre Allen played better than Turner that season and continued solid play (though over shadowed by Ndamukong Suh's superb play) throughout his junior season.
If there is one player that could surprise the Big 12 next season on defense, it's Pierre Allen. He has the size, speed and drive to become a dominant defensive end this next season, and with the loss of Suh up front, Nebraska will need a defensive end that can do all of the following: Stay home and contain, pursue the ball carrier, rush the passer and drop into a shallow zone.
Pierre Allen can do all of these things, and with his experience he must become the leader of the defense next season. Look for him to play well in the Spring Game but not to wow until the fall.
