CM Punk and Rey Mysterio Will Steal the Show at Wrestlemania 26

One match that has been rumored for Wrestlemania 26 is CM Punk vs. Rey Mysterio in a possible Hair vs. Mask match.  If and when this match happens on the "Grandest Stage of Them All", it will steal the show.

Punk and Mysterio have had a few matches on Raw, Smackdown, and Pay-Per-View in the last year or so and they have incredible in-ring chemistry.  The storyline is ready made for a Wrestlemania match.  The evil heel CM Punk, who preaches straight edge in the most hypocritical way possible, versus Rey Mysterio, the babyface that is one of the most popular superstars in WWE.

Lets first talk about CM Punk.  This guy is completely on top of his game right now.  He is already a three-time World Heavyweight Champion in just a few short years on the main WWE roster.  CM Punk is finally hitting his stride as a heel after the initial growing pains of having high profile feuds with Jeff Hardy and The Undertaker.

He is arguably the best that wrestling has to offer as far as microphone skills come.  The guy has a way of getting  under the skin of everyone in the crowd, including the children that have no clue what he is talking about.  In the ring, he brings a unique style and can adapt to anyone else’s style in the ring.  I can't wait to see an inevitable feud with Shawn Michaels that could really have a great story behind it with Shawn's past "discretions" as Tiger Woods would say.

The Straight Edge Society is the best idea for a stable that WWE has come up with in a long time.  The man formerly known as Festus all of a sudden has a reason to be on Smackdown each and every week.  Former Indy wrestler Serena Deeb adds a fresh, evil heel "diva" to the fold.  WWE should continue to grow Punk's stable and keep them as strong as possible.

Rey Mysterio was probably the MVP of 2009 as far as performers go in the WWE.  He feuded with Chris Jericho, Dolph Ziggler, Batista, and had a spectacular Smackdown match with John Morrison.  Mysterio was able to pull off the match of the night with all of the above mentioned talent and there is no question that he can do the same with CM Punk.

At Wrestlemania 25, Rey Mysterio defeated JBL in a mere 21 seconds to become the 21st triple-crown champion in WWE History.  I believe that WWE will make it up to Mysterio this year by allowing him to have a "Wrestlemania Quality" outing with CM Punk.  On the flip side, this could also be CM Punk's first shot at a singles match in his Wrestlemania career.  He has competed in the last three Money in the Bank Ladder Matches winning the last two.

The storyline for Rey's mask is ALWAYS there.  It is something that WWE can always use and this would be the perfect time to bring it back.  With CM Punk making his Straight Edge Society shave their heads without him shaving his own, it would make for a perfect stipulation in this match.  The seeds were planted a couple of weeks ago on Smackdown and they will sprout even more this Sunday at the "Elimination Chamber" pay-per-view.

When this match steals the show at Wrestlemania 26, remember where you read this and come on back to give me my kudos.
