On “experts” made a top 10 list of teams from 2010. Amazingly the New England Patriots were not one of them. When I was first reading this I was thinking to myself, this is a joke right? Seriously I just couldn’t get it, was trying to play a joke on all the visitors to the website? I knew that it was legit, but it was all a big joke to me. To not have New England in the mix of Top 10 teams is like not saying Drew Brees won Super Bowl MVP(which in case you weren’t aware, he did).

Ok let’s look at this with some logic first. The New England Patriots managed to secure a wild card spot. That already puts them ahead of a lot of other teams. They lost on wild card weekend. Alright that means logically seeing that there were only 8 teams alive after that. So that already fills 8 slots in the Top 10, that’s not actually a bad thing seeing that the Patriots were without a doubt one of the stronger wild card teams.

Cincinnati Bengals, New England Patriots, Philadelphia Eagles and Green Bay Packers are the 4 losing wild card teams. Looking at those 4 teams I do not see how you do not pick the New England Patriots as one of the two better teams. The New England Patriots clinched the AFC East Division with a 10-6 regular season record. Doesn’t sound too bad to me.

Alright well despite Green Bay and Philadelphia both having better regular season records I still think the Patriots can and should be in the mix. Ok right from the start feel free to toss Cincinnati out of things. The Patriots easily top them in stats and have the same record so you can just throw them to the side. One down, 3 to go.

3 teams, two spots. Despite having one more win than the New England Patriots, stats do not favour Philadelphia over the home team. The Patriots top them in a lot of categories giving them a good edge over them. Green Bay statistically can get the edge over New England this time, but that’s not an issue because the Pats still beat out the other two so they still get in.

Let me rank the teams quickly and prove “experts” wrong…

  1. New Orleans Saints
  2. Indianapolis Colts
  3. Minnesota Vikings
  4. New York Jets
  5. San Diego Chargers
  6. Dallas Cowboys
  7. Arizona Cardinals
  8. Baltimore Ravens
  9. Green Bay Packers
  10. New England Patriots

I based this off of playoffs first. Where you got eliminated helps you get higher or lower(ex. New York Jets who were 9-7 in the regular season get #4). Then when comparing the eliminated teams I look to the regular season. Oh and would you look at that, who is that sitting at No. 10? Could it perhaps be the New England Patriots? Why indeed it is. I know that it’s just all opinions, but the disgusting one that has shown I just do not agree with.

The New England Patriots are a football powerhouse! Year in and year out they are going to be one of the top teams in the NFL and that’s a no brainer. To not have them in the Top 10 teams this year is just simply wrong. This team goes in and just has win on their minds and they do get the nod quite a lot of the time.

This is still the same team that has one of the best QBs in the league in Tom Brady(my personal view is 1. Brees 2. Brady 3. Manning 4. Favre 5. Rivers). He’s the guy that can really win games for you. You also have some of the best receivers in the league on your front line when you play offense. Wes Welker, Randy Moss? Come on.

Despite not having the absolute best defensive crop in the league they still manage to get by. You don’t always have to have a San Diego/New York Jets level of defense(two top teams in my opinion on the defensive end this year) to get by. New England has proven that.

Now as much as we would want it we will never be the 2007 Patriots who nearly went 19-0(still hating on the giants for that, really), but we know that greatness is not out of our reach. It never was an never will be. A ranking out of the Top 10 was an insult, one that I did not take too kindly too.

For all the Patriots fans following this I would like to just quote one thing, “Let’s start a riot!” For those of you who listen to Three Days Grace like me and DJ do you will know what I’m talking about(yes I’m bringing music into this). Point is I didn’t like the call they made, hell I hated it. Can’t cover up stupidity forever.

Let’s just hope next year’s New England Patriots will be different, like Super Bowl different! Being hopeful here, alright I’m out Pats Planet! Peace out.
