Source's say that Markus Naslund has signed a 2 year $8 million dollar contract which pays him $4 million per season. This is just another great signing by the Ranger's adding Wade Redden signing him to a 6 year $39 million contract that is a huge help for the back end and with Marc Stall's contract coming to a close he will be probably want some big bucks too.

Naslund brings leadership, speed, strength, and he helps out with some good players like Chris Drury, Scott Gomez, and the newly acquired  Nikolai Zherdev, and maybe Jagr if he resigns. But these guys all it all for a good strong dynamite offense, their keep getting young talented guys from the draft and free agency.

Naslund won the Lester B. Person award in 2002-2003 for the NhL's most outstanding player when he recorded 104 points and 48 goals in that season. He is coming off a 3 year $18 million contract with the Vancouver Canucks where he played for 12 seasons after he was acquired from Pittsburgh in 1996.
In Vancouver he boomed into an electrifying player.

These were his comments on coming to the Rangers

"I think for anyone who dreams of playing in the NHL, playing for one of the Original Six teams with the history and tradition, it's special," Naslund said on a conference call.

"It was very appealing to me and my family to live in New York and be part of what's going on there. The overall picture was very appealing to me." he commented.

Well Watch out for the Rangers there going to be a blast to watch Next year they might even be a cup contender!
