Alexander Ovechkin on 2014 Olympics in Sochi, Russia: "See Ya"

Alexander Ovechkin makes it clear.  He wants the NHL shutdown in 2014 for the Winter Olympics 2014 in Sochi, Russia.  Period.

The deal right now is, the NHL has yet to commit to the 2014 games in Russia.  The reasonthe hours the games will be played in Russia, the league fears will attract few viewer, which means, little publicity for the National Hockey League.

But the growing Russian influence in the NHL, led by the greatest player on the planet, Alexander Ovechkin, and he has made clear once again, the NHL and the Sochi games are a must.

"I'll go play the Olympic Games for my country," Ovechkin said. "If somebody says to me you can't play, see ya."

The NHL has been developing one of the best rivalries in all of sports between Ovechkin and Pittsburgh Penguin superstar Sidney Crosby.  Crosby backs the Ovechkin stance.
