2010 Oakland Raiders Mock Draft
There's NO WAY you can predict an Oakland Raiders draft. You can spend weeks leading up to the draft analyzing and you will still be surprised by the famous Al Davis pick. Leaving Mike Mayock speech less and wondering was non other than the Oakland Raiders. Here's my 2nd mock draft for the Oakland Raiders.
Round 1 8th pick
Different from all the other picks you have regularly seen I have the Raiders taking Florida star cornerback Joe Haden with there first round pick. For those who know Al Davis draft style its all about speed, strength, & SPEED. Joe Haden has a rare combination of all those plus more. At 5'11, 190 pounds Haden can be a threat along side star cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha. New DB's coach Clancy Pendergast who worked very well with other rookie corners like Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie with his time in Arizona, and Brandon Flowers in Kanasas City.
Round 2 39th pick
Jason Pierre-Paul is a stud athlete. He is a Al Davis prodigy very quick off the line and into the backfield, some of you will disagree with me on this pick for several reason like our boost needing on the OL, but Pierre-Paul would be too much to pass on here at this pick for Al Davis.
Round 3 69th pick
Our need of linebackers have grown big this year, drafting Koa Misi would be a huge help at our outside linebacker spot. He was very good at disrupting the quarterback in the senior bowl and also a very sure tackler.
Round 3 85th pick
6-8 300 pound Sam Young did well at the senior bowl this year opening up lanes for running backs and also kept the quarterback upright and on his feet.
Round 4 103rd pick
In need of a dangerous threat at the returner position Jacoby Ford is a HUGE threat at kick returner with blazing speed that of course Al Davis wont pass up on.
Round 5 134th pick
This guy can bring fear to our left side of the offensive line at the guard position and can also open holes for our running backs this next year.
Round 5 154th pick
With our need of DT help Boo Robinson is a safe pick in the late round, he is a very commited worked. He has lost a tremendous amount of wait while in college but he is still a very fierce run stopper.
7th Round 200th pick
Too end this off we need a fullback that can block and catch so john conner is the ideal choice here.
Free Agency Pickups
This free agency the oakland have to go after three main position DT, MLB, & OL
DT- Signing someone like Vince Wilfork or Casey Hampton would be a huge pickup for the Raiders. They had a lot of trouble last year stopping the run and i believe bringing in a veteran like Wilfork or Hampton will help the Raiders run stopping defense.
MLB- Signing a Inside Linebacker is gonna be tough for the raiders to do, but if they can bring in someone like Gary Brackett or Karlos Dansby to add leadership to the defense will also help out stopping the run in 2010.
Offensive Line- There wont be much buzz at O-Line this free agency. The biggest buzz will come from jahri evans from the saints at the guard position. If Oakland can offer Evans the money he asks for then this will be a HUGE boost at our guard position and fersure will open up some holes for the backs and keep our starting quarterback on his feet.
