Happy Friday Ladies and Gents! Sorry about missing yesterday, but I was getting over shoveling all the snow the Philadelphia area received, and then ended finding out I was a victim of identity freud.  Thanks to whoever you were using my debit card without my permission!! Anyway, back into the daily sports grind today! I hope you all are getting out and about, especially if you have been stuck through the 2010 Blizzard!

1) Apparently it is NBA All- Star Weekend? How much more -interested could I be?? The dunk contest and three point shoot out have had their day, but the all- star game itself means absolutely nothing.  On top of that, I love that fact that the top talents in the NBA refuse to participate in the dunk contest, yet these guys do not mind putting on a dunk fest in the middle of the all- star game! To really keep you interested during this year's all- star weekend, I have included below a NBA Weekend Drinking Game so you can at least be interested while watching it! I was happy to hear Kobe Bryant and Allen Iverson pulled out of the game, as I discussed in my last post.  Jason Kidd replaces Bryant, and David Lee will replace Iverson.  The other good news is that in Dallas, Dirk Nowitzki will replace Bryant in the West's starting lineup.

2) So apparently the Cincinnati Bengals have brought Adam "Pacman" Jones in for a work out.  Interesting move Cincy! Interesting, but not surprising.  Nothing like getting away from the "Bengals Stereotype" like bringining Mr. Make it Rain himself.  If the Bengals are actually serious about this, which I am not saying they are, they are looking for another PR mess.  When is enough enough??

3) Another true player MLB can be proud has chosen to hang up his number 35.  "The Big Hurt" Frank Thomas will be retiring from the diamond, after not playing last season he has decided it is time to wrap it up.  I say a true player MLB can be proud of because he was one of the best players of the '90s. and was never part of discussion of accusations on performance enhancers.  Thomas hammered 521 home runs, knocked in 1704 RBIs, and had a career batting average of .301.  Not just another power hitter, has he had great contact with that career average.  Thomas was a five time all- star, and was two- time American League MVP.  In my opinion, Thomas is a definitive Hall of Famer.

4) Maybe it is just me, but does it seem that during the '90s the NBA had greater star power then the 2000s.  There are definitely some superstars currently in the NBA, but it seems few and far between.  Thinking of the household names from the 90s seems more impressive then now a days.  You had Jordan, Pippen, Magic, Bird, Shaq, Barkley, Hakeem, Rodman, Robinson, Kemp, Mourning, Muggsy, and many more that I am for getting.  Even a lot of the stars now a days were playing during the 90s with the established stars.  There just does not seem to be the younger star talent, especially coming out of colleges.  With 'Melo being the exception to that rule.  Like I said, maybe it is just me, but I feel like there was a lot more talent in the 90s and that is a cause of concern with today's National Basketball Association.

5) I got the chance to do some reading up on a pretty good NBA player Adonal Foyle from the Orlando Magic.  A dominant shot blocker with a great background.  An adopted child, a newly established American Citizen, and a great off the court person.  He has established "Democracy Matters" a student organization particularly promoting clean elections via students and faculty on over 50 college campuses.  Foyle also founded a foundation serving children in St. Vincent and the Grenadines entitled the Kerosene Lamp Foundation.  I have a lot of respect for a tenured veteran with more on his mind besides basketball.  He also spends time writing poems.  A genuine man, and definitely glad I got to discover more about him.

6) Friday's I will giving an Overtime! segment.  What really grinds my gears this week? (Yes, I used Peter Griffin's catch phrase!) This week I was sickened by something after the Super Bowl.  I think it is disgusting when a fan basks in the glory of a victory over another team.  For example, a Broncos fan who gloated over how "their" Saints won the Super Bowl? Is that not a sports crime? You stick with your team, you can not choose multiple.  Now, I have other jerseys that are not Eagles or Sixers jerseys.  I have those because I like the player! If LaDainian Tomlinson and the Chargers would have won the Super Bowl, I would have not have rubbed it into a Saints fan's face.  I am an Eagles fan, not an Eagles- Chargers fan.  That is unethical, and even un- American.  Stick to your team, with or without the Super Bowl victory! They are your team! You should not have another one!

Three Point Shoot Out Drinking Game:
Here is a great way to enjoy the Three Point Shoot  Out, as long as you are 21 or older! Each person in the room takes a different participant, or split it evenly if there is not eight people over.

For each of your participants, you take a sip of your drink everytime they make a three pointer.  If your participant breaks top score, you pick some one to drink in the room for thirty seconds.

If your participant gets eliminated, you can choose to sit out, or pick up another player left in.

Dunk Contest Drinking Game:
This is made for four people/

Every player takes a participant in the dunk contest.

For every made dunk by your participant you choose someone else to drink.  If your participant misses a dunk, you drink (a la Chris Anderson a few years ago).

After your participant is eliminated, your drink every time a dunk is missed.  The three losers will all chug a full drink after the crowning of the new Dunk Champion.

Have fun, but be safe guys!
