Some Respect For "Big Country"

Love him or hate him Roy Nelson is a legitimate MMA fighter. The UFC showed very little respect for the reigning IFL champion forcing him to go through the Ultimate Fighter to earn his spot in the octagon. Making a seasoned veteran like Roy fight just above amateur level fighters to earn a spot while Ben Rothwell was vaulted right onto a PPV card. I became a fan of Big Roy when I saw the fight with Big Ben Rothwell in the IFL which he lost via split decision. The guy has toughness and endurance and has both knocked out and submitted high level competition. He may not be the next champion but at least the UFC is finally showing him some respect by pitting him against an interesting young fighter in Struve. Roy should be able to take him down put the belly on him and submit him easily but he won't be scared to keep it on the feet either. Roy is a great addition to the UFC and  I am sure going through the Ultimate Fighter made him some money and got his name out there. Roy was already worthy of being on a UFC card and shouldn't have had to fight circus level competition like Kimbo Slice to prove it. Once he disposes of Struve a rematch with Big Ben is in order.
