Six Pack: Professional Athlete Beer Pong Partner?
Stuck in another snow storm! Yeah! Can not wait to shovel over another foot of the snow! Hope you are having just as good a day!
1) Bleacher Report has a great article up about the Sophomore Jump. The article discusses next year's second year players who may have a very productive sophomore season. The list is very talented, I found one player missing from the list however. Philadelphia Eagles running back LeSean McCoy could have a very productive 2010. Brian Westbrook may not have enough in the tank to be a every down back in the NFL any more and it is time McCoy becomes a bigger part of the offense. Especially if the Eagles choose to start Kevin Kolb at quarterback. With a younger quarterback, Andy Reid may call a few more running plays to take the pressure off Kolb, and being in a west coast offense McCoy will see his fair share of receptions.
2) This Julius Peppers situation is getting interesting in my opinion. The Carolina Panthers were playing hardball, but now it seems Julius Peppers is willing to play along. After feeling snubbed by the team, Peppers has gone on the record and announced he does not want a long term deal with the Panthers. They could franchise him, which would involve a raise from his tag last season as well as a raise in incentives such as pro bowl or playoff appearances. Or, he could sign with another team or get involved with a sign and trade. Philly could seriously use him, and new England is always looking for the next big off season talent they can sign.
3) Everyone is wondering if Kobe Bryant should play in this weekends all- star game. My thoughts... no! We all know the Black Mamba can play, sit this exhibition out (as Allen Iverson should do) and get healthy as him and his Lakers get ready to defend their crown.
4) I was asked a pretty rare question, actually rather odd the other day. If I had to choose any professional athlete as a beer pong partner who would it be? At first I thought, really? I am actually being asked this question. Then I started pondering, wow, it is a pretty interesting question. Do you choose an NBA star with a great shooting percentage, or an NFL Quarterback such as Drew Brees with pin point accuracy, or a MLB closer with a fastball or a curveball? My first thought was Steve Nash. he can shoot it in, or he can use his feet to kick it in. Interesting combination. Plus, he can use his skills of the bounce pass to our advantage. Who would you pick as your partner?
5) After hearing about the accusations against Warren Sapp, it was interesting to read about another one of the greatest defensive players of all time getting kicked off of an NFL panel. "The Minister of Defense" Reggie White was revoked on a five year, $6 million contract with CBS after sinning gays and lesbians on the show 20/20, and through newspaper advertisements. One of the greatest players in NFL history, but found his preaching a little out spoken at this point.
6) TMZ is reporting that New Orleans took a big stand for the New Orleans Saints Super Bowl parade. Not for violence, or excessive drinking... but for Girls Gone Wild. The tradition of girls showing their tater tots for beads was not in the plans for this parade. 600 police officers were on hand, for the said reasoning of summoning those females showing their goods off. I know it is a week before Mardi Gras, but it is the biggest part that city has ever seen. Let them do their thing! I mean, the NFL was allowed to show Janet's boob a few years ago during the Super Bowl. Oh yeah, that was not planed. Let the city party, they earned it, let them do what they want! Or seriously, worry about more revolting things then a quick peep show for beads!
