Blast From The Past Cito Gaston returns to Jays

There’s an old saying the more things change the more they stay the same.

Twelve years after being fired in mid 1997 Gaston is back in Toronto. Whats more puzzling is that Gaston hasn’t been back in managing till now, you never heard his name regarding vacancies. Impossible seeing as how he won back to back World Series in 1992 and 1993.

Alas the rest of baseballs loss is the Jays gain. Since his return the offence has gotten going and the pitching staff is finally getting some run support, the reason being Gaston’s approach.

Gaston  is a total contrast from John Gibbons, who was a fiery in your face type of guy who was known for his short fuse.

Gaston is calm but his track record demands respect and Gaston has gotten it thus far.

The players are calmer and playing more relaxed and believe me that makes a difference. Its too late for the Jays this year but lets hope the front office makes a smart decision and breaks Gaston back next year so he can show a new generation of baseball fans how good he- and his team can be
