When Tecmo Bowl was released in 1989, no one could've predicted that those playing it then would use it to recreate some of the greatest moments in football history 20 years later.

Date: January 10, 1982
Background Info: Joe Montana connects with a leaping Dwight Clark to put the 49ers up 28-27 with 51 seconds remaining in the NFC Championship Game. A helpless Everson Walls can only look on in amazement.

Background Info: Marcus Allen decimates the Redskins' D, going 74 yards for the score in Super Bowl XVIII. The play set the record for the longest run in Super Bowl history, and would stand for another 22 years.

Background Info: No. 1 FSU hosted No. 2 Miami at Doak Campbell Stadium, where the two proceeded to beat the crap out of each other for 60 minutes. Trailing 17-16 in the fourth quarter, Bobby Bowden sent kicker Gerry Thomas out to retake the lead. His kick sailed wide right, giving Miami the ball, the game, and FSU's No. 1 ranking.

Background Info: Needing a win to get into the playoffs, the Minnesota Vikings took a 17-12 lead into the fourth quarter, and had the Arizona Cardinals on the ropes with a 4th-and-25 situation. Cardinal QB Josh McCown then nailed a TD pass to Nate Poole with four seconds remaining, dashing Minnesota's playoff hopes.
