Air Jordan ¼ Century of Beauty

The Jordan brand alone has now amassed over  1 billion in revenue for Nike. I’d like to call it one billion dollars that were well earned. Yes, these shoes have been absurdly overpriced, especially the last few pairs; however in purchasing a pair of the signature series your not just buying a measly foot covering, your purchasing and owning history. The Air Jordan’s have been without a doubt the most prolific line-up of shoes ever.

The NBA’s Steve Aschburner clearly loves the kicks, who doesnt, although he had this humorous commentary to add “Still, those sneaker guys aren’t always so smart. If they were, it wouldn’t have taken them so long to pump out a pair that took advantage of Jordan’s most obvious trademark. It wasn’t until the Air Jordan XV in 2000 — well after Jordan had retired for the second of three times — that they made the shoe’s tongues stick out.”

This endorsement has been credited as the endorsment that begun the line of “signature shoes” for athletes. It was 1984 when these beauties hit the court and ever since then the company hasn’t looked back. I hope it never does.
