The NXT and ECW Roster: Part One

I have been thinking about this topic for a while. As you all know by now, the WWE is discontinuing the ECW brand and replacing its time slot with a new show called WWE NXT.

NXT is supposedly going to feature the up and coming talent in WWE and indy wrestling (mainly FCW). With the ECW brand going away, most of their talent is going to moved to Smackdown or Raw. Here is my breakdown of the ECW roster and the show they will be on.

Ezekiel Jackson and William Regal

Ezekiel Jackson has talent and is big (Vince loves the big men) but he needs time to develop a in ring persona and become a better wrestler all around.

Keep him with a seasoned vet like Regal and he should become better. I see Regal and Jackson going to Smackdown, maybe as a tag team or getting Drew McIntyre to become part of the Ruthless Roundtable.

Vladimir Kozlov

Ah Vlad, how you went from main eventing with HHH to working on ECW as Regal's brute muscle.

There are plans for Vladimir to play Santino's best friend on a sitcom that will be debuting on WWE.com.

In order to make this seem reasonable that the two would be friends, he's going to RAW.

Goldust

This is the man I seem to have the most trouble deciding what he is going to do.

I see him going off air and becoming more of a trainer, working with the new superstars that will appear on WWE NXT.

So he's going to NXT, either as a manager or as a behind the scenes worker.

Gregory Helms/The Hurricane

Ah, one of the most misused talents the wwe has besides Shelton Benjamin, Evan Bourne, Jack Swagger, Primo........... Oh sorry about that.

Any way, Mr. Hurricane(inserted Jeff Dunham joke) has had some bad press and is probably going to be let go of. Or if the WWE wants to keep him and Matt hostage to prevent Jeff Hardy from signing with TNA, then he's going to be put on the back burner of.....SMACKDOWN.

Vance Archer

This guy is perfect for the WWE's ECW. Vance is rough around the edges, has no real in ring persona, and can not keep his so call "intensity" up during matches even though Josh Matthews can not shut up about how "intense" he is.

I feel Smackdown is going to become a dumping ground for a lot of ECW's superstars. So he's going to ..................SMACKDOWN

Zack Ryder/Rosa Mendes

Zach has it all, talent, mic work, and a hot but annoying girl friend. Supposedly the management is really high about this guy and feels he is going to be a future main eventer.

So because of the good graces, Zach (and sadly, Rosa too) are going to ............... RAW

Caylen Croft/Trent Barreta

These guys are what I see FCW .....I mean WWE NXT going to be about. The smaller up and coming guys who are not yet their. So they're staying put on syfy and are on.............WWE NXT

Tyler Reks

This guy is not there yet as well. Fresh from FCW he is going to go to NXT to develop more and let the management see if they should keep him around.

Yoshi Tatsu

Same as previous three slides except I have seen great matches out of this. Tatsu should be main eventing in a few years.

I haven't seen him on the mic at all and I do not know his position in the company. This guy is small, talented, and fast so he is going to ...........WWE NXT.

On Screen Talent

Ugh, Tiffany, Byron Saxton, Abe Washington, Josh Matthews, Savannah. Their not bad, their not good, whats the word I'm looking for?..... Mediocre. that's it!

These people are just kind of there. So why change things? They're staying on syfy for...........WWE NXT

The Gold Standard: SHELTON BENJAMIN

One of my favorite stars in WWE. He is extremely talented and it shows every time. Shelton should pull a Pope and go to TNA.

Elijah Burke is now looking really good in matches as opposed to his time in WWE. Imagine what Shelton could do? But this man has two possible out comes if he stays in the WWE.

Door 1: Shelton Benjamin goes to WWE NXT and becomes the first NXT Champion or what ever they will call. WWE would be smart to do this to give the WWE NXT title some credibility and the people at home might watch NXT to see Shelton do amazing things with the new talent coming in.

Door 2: Shelton goes to RAW and starts feuding with the Miz or forms a tag team with MVP if WWE actually sees how good this guy is.

Christian

One of the best there is right now in the WWE. This man is so talented he actually made Zeke look good in the ring at the Royal Rumble.

Why this man isn't the WWE champion right now instead of Seamus is a mystery to me. There are advertisements out there for Christian and Edge for Smackdown tapings.

I see Christian going to Smackdown to team up with Edge and gang up on Jericho.

ECW

Ah ECW, we hardly knew ye. At least we did know you until you went under and Vince McMahon bought your name just to treat it like crap.
