Steve Nash? Or Jason Kidd? If asked this question, who would you take?
A lot of people say they both are pass-first point guards, true, but not entirely. Nash averages more points, while Kidd averages more rebounds, they both average a similar amount of assists, around 11 this past season.
But when it comes to who has had the better career, who accomplished more in the league, who do you take?
Neither has won a title. Kidd has been to the NBA Finals twice, but Nash has two MVP awards.
They both are surefire Hall of Fame members, and they each have a legacy that will live on long after they retire.
But I ask you, the basketball fan, if you had one game to win, who would you take for that one game? Nash or Kidd?

I thought Kidd has been to the NBA Finals twice? Both with the Nets.

Kidd has been a cancer wherever he has gone. He was sent packiing IN HIS PRIME by Dallas and Phoenix. When he didn't get his way he caused so many problems on the Nets that they traded him and had Cuban not been such a mark for him they would have gotten nothing for him a la Pau Gasol and been happy about it...he instantly turned Dallas into also-rans.
I would take Darnell Valentine over Kidd. Smurf, I would take Michael Holton before I would take Kidd. In short, despite his admittedly HoF numbers...I want no part of that guy anywhere near any team I care about

1993-1994 dallas mavericks won 13 games
1994-1995 jason kids rookie season with mavs. won 36 games
1996-1997 jason gets plays half a season on suns team because of trade. suns won 40 games
1997-1998 jason kidd plays full season. suns win 56 games.
2000-2001 nets win 26 games
20001-2002- jason kids first season with nets. wins 52
im sorry but jason kidd is no cancer. he makes teams win. he knows how to lead his team to NBA championships. twice. plus multiple other years.
nash has MVP's but thats an individual award. he needs to lead his team to the finals first.
plus defense wins championships right? nash might beable to shoot better but he plays no defense. probably ranked in the bottom 20 in defense. kidd on the other had is probably in the top 20.
u can have valentine or holton on ur lottery team, but ill take kidd over nash for my playoff bound team...

Nash without question. Whenever the Suns need a bucket they can go to him. He's hit so many huge, clutch shots over the years and I cant think of many that Kidd has hit..... Plus, I just don't like Kidd :)

Drew i doubt Nets fans saw kidd as a cancer. They went to the playoffs about 8 years in a row and had two final appearences. He mad everyone on the nets better, look at kenyon martin's numbers after he left for denver.

i have always found that the game flows more naturally with nash at the helm in phoenix than with kidd in NJ (or dallas). kidd may be the modern king of the triple-double but nash conducts the offense with such fluidity that you think they can score every time up the floor.

If I could get Kidd in his prime then I'd have to say Kidd, but as is I'd take Nash he's less injury prone

I hate Steve Nash but I think that he is better than Jason Kidd right now. Jason Kidd has absolutely blown for the Mavericks.

Recently and right now its Nash........career wise it's Kidd without a doubt. Nash took alot longer to develop and Jason Kidd has taken a bad team to the finals twice....at least his team was less talented than the suns in my opinion.....lastly Nash plays so little defense its disgusting. Tony Parker 35ppg avg and a 40point game. Really?

never questioned his talent...I even agreed he is in the HoF...just his exits. Everywhere Kidd has gone he has been welcomed as savior and on exit...well, not quite so much love. He is a guy with a phenomenal talent for putting up numbers...and a guy every team in the league (that he isn't playing for) wants to take the last shot. He is also known for his relationship with coaches:

To be sure, not everyone is enamored of Musselmen but I tend to agree with him on this one.

jason kidd for the simple fact that he started in place of nash when they were on phoenix, he plays defense CP3 was just a problem for everyone this year steve nash go t beat 4-1 by the SPURS they are older than brat favre SUNS are dispicable they gave marion for pebbles and shaq has the nerve to talk smack about kobe, and i'm not even a kobe fanatic.
As a person i'm not loving Kidd especially what i hear about his personal life but he is the better point guard watch when he passes especially when he was with Nets (kmART//R.J.) compared to those defensive break downs that lead to Nash assists you never see him in highlight reels so...

Kidd's defense and leadership skills are attributes of why I'd select him over Nash. You can always find a scorer, but defensive players and leaders are rare. There's a reason why Jason Kidd is starting over Chris Paul and Deron Williams on Team USA and made the cut over many other available PG's. His presence is invaluable. Furthermore, he know show to win with a team without much talent by amplifying it's strengths. I don't believe Nash can do that, he needs good shooters to make use of his passes and shot blockers behind his bull-fighter defense.

I feel you, but as a Nash fan, Kidd needs better shooters around him, Nash can score, one of the best shooters in the league, Kidd, not so much, so you are far off on that one buddy.
