Four hours after the free agent market opened up, the New York Rangers had signed one player: Aaron Voros.
The Rangers are in danger of losing Jaromir Jagr, Sean Avery, Brendan Shanahan, Paul Mara, Michael Rozsival, and Martin Straka, but GM Glen Sather isn't concerned.
"Voros can put up their numbers combined," the GM said.
"And even if he doesn't, he can still fight everyone on the other team."
Voros had 7 goals and 7 assists in 55 games with the Minnesota Wild last year, but he believes he can help the Rangers in a big way.
"I'm looking to score around 100 goals and have about 200 assists this season," Voros stated.
Jagr fears that this signing means the end of his time in New York.
"If they signed Voros, what do they need me for? He's the guy I go into practice hoping to play like one day," Jagr admitted.
Sather later said that he just hopes this doesn't hurt the parity in the league.
They might as well hand the Stanley Cup over now because it's sure to land wherever Aaron Voros does.
