Already sporting a disappointing 9-13 overall record with a 2-6 mark in Mountain West Conference action, the Wyoming Cowboys took another blow on Friday when head coach Heath Schroyer announced the departure of sophomore guard AJ Davis.

“We wish A.J. all the best in the future," Schroyer said in a release by the University.

Davis is the Cowboys' second leading scorer amongst active players at 10 points per game behind Adam Waddell.

Davis' departure is said to be for personal reasons and Schroyer won't have any further comment on the situations.

This blow is even more costly as the Pokes are set to play Colorado State in the Border War on Saturday in Fort Collins. CSU topped Wyoming 83-73 in Laramie on Jan. 6.

Waddell, a forward, will now be the focal part of Wyoming's offense since Afam Muojeke suffered a season-ending injury earlier this year.
